Kim Soo-hyun’s Agency Statement Matches “Expected Scenario,” Provoking Netizens’ Fury

On March 13, when news broke that Kim Soo-hyun would be releasing his statement next week, a post titled “Kim Soo-hyun’s Expected Statement Scenario for Next Week” appeared on the Pann community.

The post presented a scenario in which it stated, “It is true that we have been close, as senior and junior, since the deceased’s underage years, but our relationship began in earnest only after the deceased became an adult.” It continued, “Although we met with good feelings, we broke up because we could not overcome our differences. It is true that the deceased contacted me a few times after our breakup, but I felt it was right not to leave any room for reconciliation, so I did not respond.”

The post further read, “After hearing of the passing, I debated whether the company should send a wreath or if I should quietly visit the funeral alone. However, considering the scandal between the two actors and the public attention, I was concerned that the essence of the memorial service would be overshadowed, so I could only express my condolences in my heart.”
This content closely mirrored the official statement released by Kim Soo-hyun’s agency on March 14. The statement read, “Kim Soo-hyun and Kim Sae-ron started dating in the summer of 2019, after Kim Sae-ron became an adult, and their relationship lasted until the fall of 2020. The claim that they dated when Kim Sae-ron was a minor is false,” thereby denying the rumors.

As evidence, the agency pointed to a photo of Kim Sae-ron wearing a T-shirt. They explained, “The photo released by Kim Sae-ron on March 24, 2024, and the photo published by the Garo Sero Institute on March 11, were taken in the winter of 2020. Kim Sae-ron’s T-shirt is from June 2019, so the claim by Gaseyeon that it was taken in 2016 is impossible.”

Regarding a letter Kim Soo-hyun allegedly sent to Kim Sae-ron during his military service, the agency clarified, “It was just one of the letters he sent to close friends. The expression ‘I miss you’ is a casual phrase used by soldiers to close acquaintances, and Garo Sero has distorted it.”

Netizens reacted angrily to the post, leaving comments such as, “I came for a pilgrimage,” “As expected, the statement was just as predicted,” and “It’s as if they wrote the statement based on the scenario. It never missed the mark.”
This uncanny similarity between the anticipated scenario and the official statement has sparked further frustration among netizens, leaving many to question the authenticity of the situation and the motivations behind the responses.
